phil took photos for his art project. i was really tired and grumpy (going to bed @ 5am is bad for me) and started getting really annoyed at him picking outfits for me and telling me what to wear, so i put on what i wanted to wear. and then phil added the hat and fake nose ring, we threw in the skateboard and i basically looked like a boy which was cool

i want to be in a rock band. i've wanted this since i was approximately 11 years old. i'm getting older and older and older and i still haven't managed it

it's my one dream in life and it's pretty unobtainable but if anyone in the greater manchester area ever needs an extra dogsbody for their band i'm VERY KEEN, can play bass/guitar (both appallingly), piano/synth/keyboards, can sing and write reasonably well i mean i can be anything you want me to be

(note: will not, however, dress sluttishly and look angsty a la taylor momsen. would rather be joan jett, kim gordon or similar)

i stayed in braemar syha with my family for 3 days, it was lovely. i took this by the side of loch muick - the melted snow turned what's normally a small river into a mass of cascading water. i took a lot of photos for my LAST EVER art project - "responding to the landscape". i want to combine the style of japanese landscape art with a very typically scottish style of modern art - brightly coloured landscapes in oil or acrylic. not sure how well they'll mix but i'll give it a crack.

i recently learnt to cook a meal that ACTUALLY TASTES NICE. even though i've been eating vegan for 9 months now, i'm still an appalling cook, but this is so easy even i can't go wrong which has meant it's quickly become my current favourite meal

STEAMED GREEN VEG WITH BROWN RICE & SPICY PEANUT SAUCE
YOU WILL NEED: some brown rice, a large amount of broccoli, 2 large handfuls of spinach, peanut butter, soy sauce, vinegar, a clove of garlic, half an inch of fresh ginger, some chilli flakes, a bit of sugar and some hot water
- whack some hot water in a pan with a cupful of brown rice and cook it on a medium heat for about quarter of an hour. don't sit in the kitchen whilst it's cooking because it's dead boring and you'll end up eating doritos/biscuits/snack foods to entertain yourself (i just did this). come back after 15 mins, leave the rice cooking on the hob, and put some broccoli in a bowl with a bit of hot water, cover and microwave for about 2-3mins.
- whilst that's steaming, put a level tablespoon of peanut butter in a small bowl with some chilli flakes, minced ginger & garlic, a tablespoon of soy sauce, a teaspoon of vinegar, half a teaspoon of sugar and enough hot water to mix it all into a fairly runny paste.
- when the broccoli's been steamed for a bit, add loads of spinach, cover and put back in the microwave for a couple more minutes. drain the rice, put the the steamed veg on top and pour the peanut sauce all over it.

SO TASTY
this also works nicely with firm tofu, cubed and tossed in some sesame seeds and fried on a high heat until it's crispy, instead of the rice.

my ultimate girl crush has to be freja beha erichsen - cool/understated/androgynous/beautiful
i don't think anyone can wear a tshirt and jeans and look as good as she does

COLD WEATHER

it snowed the other day, then the snow melted a bit, then it FROZE
the only way i can describe it is fuckin cold as fuck and none of my clothes are sufficing, even my faux fur coat which usually keeps me snug as a bug in a rug.
so i UNEARTHERD THE PUFFA JACKET. had it since i was about 11 and it usually only emerges in aviemore each february. but fuck me it's been cold here and there's no way in hell i'm leaving the house for college at 7:45am tomorrow without a big layer of feathers and warm air between me and the SAVAGE northern weather. (honestly don't understand these swedish/norwegian/russian girls on lookbook who apparently stroll around in short skirts and little jackets amongst PILES OF SNOW. girls, that's ridiculous. you're gonna catch a chill if you don't wrap up)
